Hawken Insurance Agency was founded with one goal: help move the PEO industry forward when it comes to employee benefits. After spending more than six years working inside the PEO space across benefits underwriting, implementation, client service, and sales, I saw firsthand where traditional approaches created limitations for clients. Too often, employers were placed into one-size-fits-all solutions without enough creativity, transparency, or flexibility.

I've worked across nearly every stage of the benefits process, from underwriting hundreds of groups and implementing more than 200 new clients to managing carrier relationships, developing sales strategies, and leading benefits teams. These experiences highlighted a recurring issue: while master health plans can create value, they are not always the right solution or best solution for every client. In many cases, alternative strategies, including level funded programs, can provide better alignment with a client’s goals and risk profile.

Today, Hawken Insurance Agency partners with PEOs, PEO Brokers, PEO Representatives, and non-PEO employers to bring more optionality to the market. By combining my deep PEO experience with a consultative approach, the agency focuses on helping those within the PEO industry evaluate the best options for each group.
